Feature: Coast

  • Named after it's distance from Greymouth, 13 Mile is probably best known for the Motukiekie Rocks, but there's way more on offer than that.
  • Sunrise on the West Coast near 17 Mile beach
  • Located at Wharariki Beach (my fave beach in New Zealand), the Archway Islands are always an impressive sight.
  • Sunrise greets the infamous and very popular Cathedral Cove, located near Hahei
  • The walk between Stony Bay and Fletchers Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula is one of New Zealand's must-do activities.
  • A long exposure of Wainuiototo Bay, with New Chums Beach just out of frame to the left
  • Doesn’t matter if it’s rain or shine, Doubtful Sound / Patea is always a spectacular place to be.
  • Pipis (shellfish) in the waters of Milford Sound / Piopiotahi almost look like stars fallen from the sky
  • Intriguing patterns under inclement skies on the western edge of Farewell Spit
  • Fletcher Bay, located at the northernmost point of the Coromandel Peninsula, marks one end of the Coromandel Coastal Walkway
  • The wild expanse of Gillespies Beach, located in South-Westland near the township of Fox Glacier
  • A moody evening on Hahei Beach, with Maharangi Island (Goat Island) centre of frame
  • Ligar Bay is a beautiful spot to capture tidal sand textures
  • It's easy to see why the famous author, Rudyard Kipling, described Milford Sound / Piopiotahi as the eighth wonder of the world.
  • Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Not that any shepherds live at Milford Sound.
  • The large septarian concretions of Moeraki Beach, otherwise known as the Moeraki Boulders
