2020 tours!

Our 2020 tours are now available for booking!

After another successful year running photography tours/workshops at our favourite spots around the South Island, we’re very excited to be launching two new itineraries for 2020.

First up in April 2020 is the most comprehensive trip on our calendar, the 8-day “Autumn Colours” tour.  On this trip we explore the mountains, lakes, forests and fiords of New Zealand’s South Island during the most vibrant season of the year.  This is our only trip which gets into the magnificent Fiordland National Park, including staying a night at the iconic Milford Sound / Piopiotahi.

Once the snow and ice arrives it’s time for our 5-day “Winter Wonderland” tour in June 2020. In this workshop we immerse ourselves in the heart of the Southern Alps and Mackenzie Basin, home to some of the most incredible mountains and alpine lakes New Zealand has to offer.

I recently went on a photography tour with @purephotoadventures.nz and I had an amazing time with them. All three very talented photographers/guides (Daniel Murray, Lee Cook and Rach  Stewart) were very kind, patient and helpful. I have just finished the 2019 Winter Wonderland Tour with a wonderful bunch of 10 other photographers. Rach, Lee and Dan were excellent tour hosts and brilliant tutors. Their skills and styles are very different from each other so you get to pick up so many new idea’s / skills and having those wonderful lightbulb moments. The weather didn’t really behave as we would have wanted but the guys local knowledge manage to turn this to our advantage with some quick location changes that gave us some incredible results. Thanks again guys for a great trip. Hopefully I can make Autumn work.

So, first things first, the @purephotoadventures.nz team is just awesome and this will be the experience of a lifetime that you will be so glad that you decided to do!!! Dan, Lee and Rach are so knowledgeable, encouraging and supportive. They were always more than happy to provide guidance, answer any questions that we had and pass on their seemingly infinite wisdom! The Winter Wonderland Tour was jam packed with beautiful scenery, amazing experiences and boundless learning opportunities. I started the tour having little idea about the settings on my camera and would shoot in auto and now, I am so much more confident with finding the right settings for whichever shot I am taking and it’s manual all the way! Thank you so much to Dan, Lee and Rach, firstly for being such awesome people and secondly for being there to guide me through the start of my journey into the world of photography.
